I'm sensitive to the language that is used around adoption, I think it matters to the larger cultural narrative. My response was not intended to negate what is beautiful in your essay, or your experience, only to shed further light on the subject. Your boys will have a road for sure, they have trauma on top of trauma, but feelings at 15 often change with age. Your open mindedness and compassion will benefit them, that I know for sure.
