Thank you so much for reading and for this wonderful response. But I'm curious, how do you know an adopted home is a great thing? Can't it be like every other home? Some great, some terrible, some magnificent, some malignant? The reflexive pedestal placement of adoptive parents and homes isn't warranted. Adoptive parents are human beings like the rest of us--good apples and bad--and many don't come to adoption from altruism but as a last resort when all attempts at fertility have failed. It's all more nuanced than the better/saved/chosen narrative wants us to believe.
