Thank you so much for reading and responding.

The American child welfare system unfairly and systematically targets Black and brown families and too often equates poverty with neglect. And absolutely, the voices of Black adoptees, especially Black women are squelched and silenced. I am so sorry for your pain and for the unending racism of this country.

Have you read Rebecca Carroll's Surviving The White Gaze or Harrison Mooney's Invisible Boy? Both are profoundly moving stories of Black adoptees. Also, any book by Dorothy Roberts cuts right to the heart of systemic issues that target and harm Black families and Black bodies. Highly recommend them all. Also, if you're on Instagram, there are many amazing transracial adoptee accounts doing amazing work speaking out. Feel free to DM me @Minster12 and I'll share them with you.
