To be honest, this sounds angry and defensive and I'm not sure why, or why you feel the need to take sides when sides were not drawn. This essay, nor anything I write about adoption, is about drawing a line between adoptive parents (e.g. you and Pam) and adoptees. It's a shame you see it that way.
